I went out and bought a new HDD today, but Im still getting a similar error when I try to boot up from the XP cd ( File \i386\KDCOM.DLL could not Sorry meant to put all that stuff at the end of my post. the one I was using definitely has some markings on it ... I did as F6 and F7 procedures, but no luck!
So I found a HDD for it installed it into the laptop then finally got the recovery Discs sent from Dell.
